Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 15, 2026
Who operates this site
This Privacy Policy applies to RelocateFacts at www.relocatefacts.com (the "Site"), operated by Tyris Walker. For privacy questions or requests related to this policy, contact tyris77@gmail.com.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the Site's hosting infrastructure automatically records basic technical information as part of normal server operation and security logging — for example, IP address, browser/device type, the pages requested, and timestamps. This happens for any visitor simply loading a page, independent of the conditional services described below.
If cookies, analytics, or advertising services are enabled on the Site (see the next two sections), those services may additionally collect information such as approximate location derived from IP address, pages viewed and time on page, referral or traffic source, and device/browser identifiers, using cookies or similar technologies (such as pixels or local storage) for their respective purposes.
Analytics
The Site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to help understand how visitors use the Site. GA4 is active, but gated by consent: the Site implements Google Consent Mode v2, which defaults both analytics storage and advertising storage to denied for every visitor, on every visit, before GA4's script runs any measurement logic. Analytics cookies are only set, and analytics data is only sent, after you choose "Accept analytics" in the on-site consent banner.
We set the Consent Mode default to deny analytics storage before GA4 processes anything, which prevents analytics cookies from being set and prevents analytics data from being sent while consent is denied. We have not independently verified, through network inspection, whether Google's script makes any network request at all before a consent choice is made — only that no analytics cookie is set and no measurement is enabled until you accept.
When active, GA4 may collect information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser information, and referral source, using cookies or similar identifiers. Google's handling of that data is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Advertising
The Site is built with support for Google AdSense, but AdSense is not currently enabled and no ads are currently served on relocatefacts.com. If and when AdSense or another ad provider is enabled, Google and other ad technology providers may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar identifiers to deliver ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud, and — where legally required and only after appropriate consent has been obtained — to deliver personalized advertising.

Affiliate links
Some outbound links on the Site may be affiliate or sponsored links, marked in accordance with our Advertiser Disclosure. If you click such a link and complete a qualifying action, the Site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. When you follow an affiliate link away from the Site, the destination site's own privacy policy and data practices apply — we do not control, and are not responsible for, how affiliate partners collect or use your information.
Your choices
The Site operates a first-party consent banner. On your first visit, you can choose "Accept analytics" or "Reject non-essential". Rejecting means no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is sent. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" control in the Site's footer, which reopens the consent banner.
Your choice is stored in a first-party cookie named consent_prefs, set with the Secure and SameSite=Lax attributes and a 180-day expiry — we do not store your consent choice in browser local storage.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, independent of the on-site banner. Advertising is not currently active on the Site (see Advertising below), so there is no ad-personalization choice to make yet; if that changes, this section will be updated.
EEA, UK, and Switzerland visitors
Applicable law (GDPR, UK GDPR, and Swiss data protection law) generally requires a valid legal basis — and, for most analytics cookies and any personalized advertising, prior consent — before that processing occurs. The Site implements Google Consent Mode v2 with a default-denied state applied globally, to every visitor regardless of location — not only to EEA, UK, or Swiss visitors specifically. Analytics storage defaults to denied until you affirmatively choose "Accept analytics" in the on-site banner (see Analytics and Your choices above). Advertising storage (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) remains denied at all times for all visitors, because the Site does not currently serve any ads (see Advertising below). This section will be updated if advertising is introduced or if consent handling changes.
US privacy rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights under applicable state privacy law (for example, California's CCPA/CPRA, or similar laws in other states) to know what personal information is collected about you, request its deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising, to the extent the Site engages in those practices. The Site does not sell personal information. To make a request, use the contact method below. This section is a general summary, not legal advice — consult the specific statute in your state for full details on your rights.
Third-party links
Site pages link to external sources, including government data providers such as the US Census Bureau and FEMA, as well as, where applicable, affiliate and advertising partners. These external sites operate under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review; we are not responsible for their content or practices.
Data security
The Site is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable measures appropriate to the information actually handled, but no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data retention
The Site does not operate user accounts or forms that collect personal information, and does not maintain its own database of visitor personal data. Where third-party services described above (analytics or advertising) are enabled, data they collect is retained according to that provider's own retention practices, which are outside our control — see the linked Google resources above for Google's specific policies.
Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Site, contact us using the details below so we can address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including to reflect changes in which services (such as analytics or advertising) are enabled on the Site. The effective date above will be updated when changes are made. Continued use of the Site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
